On November 17, 2022, several of King’s friends and colleagues gathered in the American General Media studios in San Luis Obispo to raise a sparkling cider toast in honor of the former KVEC Morning News anchor. His photo now hangs in the hallway along with those of other icons and personalities from the station’s 85-year history serving SLO County.
